POST 5 > A PHOTOGRAPH AND ITS STORY The photograph you shared is from the day my grandmother died. In it you can see an altar of flowers with candles in honor of her spirit. When I took it, I was grieving and was very sad, so I thought one way to keep her memore close to me was to remember it through the image and the love I felt. The photo is taken in a valley in Arica called "Lluta", in that place is where I used to play when I was little, jumping through the river and the rocks. I wanted to share her last day in a special place for me. The river has the best sunsets and it was very symbolic when the sun went to sleep, because she did too. I realized that life does not end with the body, that our souls accompany without time or space. Always those we love will be present in our heart.

BLOG POST 4: A MEAL OR FOOD YOU REALLY LIKE My favorite food is "pastel de coliflor", it is a difficult plate to find in restaurants. The only person who does it is my mom, who taught us to eat vegetables in many ways. She patiently taught us to love healthy food, because she has diabetes, nutritional education became vital. To make this cake you must cook a large cauliflower, then grind it like a puree. Afterwards, several eggs are put into the recipe and a dough is made. on the surface fill cheese. It is my favorite dish because it reminds me of childhood, it is healthy and tasty. It is also very special and rare, since I cannot eat it anywhere else than home. This is why I have been learning how to make this delicious recipe. I will definitely invite people over my place to eat this specific dinner, food that is close to my heart.

BLOG POST 3: MY FAVORITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY Today I am going to talk about my favorite piece of technology. My mother gave me an old film camera. This camera has travelled with me in some special moments, such as trips, birthdays and changes of road. The camera uses rolls that I have to develop with a long process. I like to be surprised with the photographs that I take, after a long time I even forget what images I took. Life would not be the same without my camera, it has taught me patience and observation. Through photography I have been able to find my expression of art, and capture the things that I like in life. Memories are valuable, over time they become treasures. My camera is small so I can take it anywhere, take part in different projects where I have been able to combine poetry and image. For me that’s why it’s vital to keep developing the technique. It is a bond with my family and with the outside world.

Hello, I would like to talk a little about what I study to get to know us better. When I was a child I dreamed of being a builder, I made houses with blankets all the time, it was my favorite game. When I grew up I decided as a first option to enter a law degree. I did not feel comfortable in the work, so I deserted. So I decided to find something that I liked better. I entered the career of social work, I like discipline and how the work of social work unfolds, it has a solidary perspective in the face of problems, where we can develop thinking and work with people. I like it epistemologically, and I also like that it can be on the ground. The university has been an apprenticeship. It has been a good experience, it is strange to study online, sometimes I miss the interaction in learning. I am grateful to be able to study.

Hello, my name is Javiera Pérez, I am a desertic person, sort of speak, I was born in Arica, northern Chile. I live in the middle of the driest desert in the world, between two valleys and the ocean. The truth is, I think I am a very simple person, I like to write, paint and listen to music. I spend my free time riding my bike and with my friends. I care a lot about nature. My city is a border town, although I feel it more like a bridge. There are wetlands, birds and before the drought there were rivers. it is a quiet city, a little far away in many ways. We live here with my parents, my sister, I also have a brother but he lives in Santiago.
